Dollar Store Stacking Bins Are your Best Friends
We love these super versatile stacking bins from the Dollar Store. These are perfect for organizing toiletries, bathroom supplies, and small miscellaneous items. These bins are handy for school, craft rooms and even office supplies. They nest for some compact storage solutions.

A systematic approach to organizing files and important paperwork
The amount of paperwork a household generates is staggering. From important announcements and agendas from school, to bills, to important tax information to health records and more. It’s important to have a file system that works for you. For things like family health records, school work, and yearly tax filings keep in a file bin, you can color code so it’s easier to decipher what exactly is inside each file. Moreover, don’t just dump papers in a filing system and forget about them forever. Use an actionable category system to sort items you have to read, those you have to file, those you have to respond to, and those that require immediate action. This can be kept near your desk or where you spend most of your time.

Organize your pantry

Pantries are a big part of every home — but you don’t have to have a big one to make it work for you and keep it organized and simplified. The rule of thumb is to toss canned goods, cereal and rice you haven’t used after a year, peanut butter after six months and pasta is good up to two years, then a it’s a good idea to toss it. Do you have some old magazine holders laying around? You can use these really versatile items to hold your aluminum foil, plastic wrap, and wax papers. You can even use them to easily stack your canned goods. Shoe organizers are also great for hanging it on the back of the pantry door to organize kid’s snacks, spize mixes, food packets, and other condiments.

Labels, labels everywhere

Labeling your storage and organization boxes is important part of the process. Knowing where everything is so you don’t have to dig through boxes of stuff to find that one small item. Label decorations by holiday or season as well as seasonal sporting goods for summer and winter as well as camping gear. These are things that you obviously don’t need throughout the year, but need handy when you’ve got an upcoming trip.

Donate!!
If you haven’t used an item in more than a year and don’t foresee yourself using it in the future, there is no reason to store it! Donate it it to your local shelter, or Goodwill where they will be better put to use. This can be toys and clothes your kids have outgrown, maternity clothes, furniture and more.
